Dimapur Police Announce Rs 50,000 Reward in Chumoukedima IED Blast

DIMAPUR, July 17: The Dimapur Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for credible information in connection with the Chumoukedima IED blast that occurred on July 13, 2026 at Khopanullah, Chumoukedima ‘A’.

The announcement was made in a public notice issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, bearing number CP/DMR/ESSTT-63(A)/2026-27/592 and dated July 17, 2026. It was signed by Commissioner of Police Aotula T. Imchen, IPS.

Intensive investigation under way

The notice said the Dimapur Police Commissionerate is conducting an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend all persons responsible for planning, facilitating, executing or aiding the commission of what it described as a heinous terrorist act.

What the reward covers

The police said the reward of Rs 50,000 will be given for any credible information leading to:

  1. Identification or arrest of the perpetrators or their associates
  2. Identification of persons involved in planning, financing, harbouring, transporting or facilitating the offence
  3. Recovery of explosives, explosive components, weapons, communication devices, vehicles or any other incriminating material connected with the case
  4. Discovery of any hideout, safe house or logistical support network linked to the offenders

Members of the public possessing any information, however insignificant it may appear, have been requested to immediately contact 7085055003 or 7085055011. Both numbers are also available on WhatsApp.

Informant identity protected

The notice stated that the identity of every informant shall be kept strictly confidential and protected in accordance with law, and that information may also be shared anonymously.

The reward will be granted after verification that the information materially contributed to the detection of the case, recovery of evidence, or apprehension of the offenders, subject to approval by the competent authority.

Appeal to citizens

The Dimapur Commissionerate appealed to all citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies, adding that any information received will be acted upon promptly and discreetly.
