Corrections Policy
Nagaland.news is committed to accuracy. When we get something wrong, we put it right openly and without delay. This Corrections Policy explains how we handle errors and how you can report one.
Our commitment
We would rather be accurate than first. But mistakes do happen in journalism, and when they do, we believe the honest response is to correct them clearly rather than to hide them. We do not silently delete or alter published reporting to cover an error.
How to report an error
If you believe we have published something factually inaccurate, please tell us. Email info@nagaland.news and include:
- the headline of the article;
- a link to the article;
- the specific point you believe is inaccurate; and
- any information or source that supports the correction.
How we handle corrections
When we receive a correction request, we review it promptly against the available evidence. If we confirm that an error was made, we will:
- correct the article as soon as possible;
- add a clear note to the article explaining what was corrected and when, where the correction is significant; and
- update the date on the article to reflect that it has been amended.
For minor errors, such as a spelling or typographical mistake that does not affect the meaning of the story, we may simply fix the text without a separate note.
Clarifications
Sometimes a report is accurate but could be clearer or could be misunderstood. In such cases we may add a clarification to provide additional context, rather than a correction.
Right of reply
If you are the subject of an article and believe it is unfair or incomplete, you may request a right of reply. Contact info@nagaland.news and we will consider your request fairly.
Contact
All correction and accuracy matters can be sent to info@nagaland.news. We take every report seriously and we thank you for helping us keep our reporting accurate.
